Built in 1901, the Italian Baroque Mansion sits on the ridge of Pacific Heights and has a spectacular panoramic view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the SF Bay. The twenty-four room house was part of the last wave of mansion building in the city. The exterior is distinguished by Ionic columns, pilasters and pedimented windows.

The granite steps, flanked by two gray marble lions, lead to a mosaic and marble vestibule and a pair of Oak and plate glass doors.

Beyond the vestibule within is the two-story great hall with columns and paneling of Golden Oak. The Grand Staircase rises to the west and is lighted by a large art glass window with four chipped glass "jewels" embedded in it. The original silk wall covering and crystal-beaded light coverings still hang in the hall.

Directly beyond the great hall to the north is the Library, with dark Mahogany paneling and a carved wood garland over the doorway. Adjacent to it is the Mosaic and Glass Solarium, which projects from the north side of the mansion and overlooks the SF Bay and Marin County. Three small Tiffany Glass Cupolas cap the Solarium.

The Library opens onto the Green Room, which is a handsome room with the original had-painted details on the fireplace mantle. This room can be turned into a "club room" with sofas and a bar, or even a billiards room!
