I began as a photojournalist 15 years ago and that art of story telling is still the grounding of my sensibilities. I went on to graduate studies in fine art photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and expanded my mind enormously. Next I assisted some of the most renowned photographers in the country while working in Los Angeles and learned the real nuts and bolts of commercial photography.

After a few years of doing commercial and magazine work, I started my own family. As every mother knows, that changes everything! In 1992 I moved to Orinda and changed my focus to photographing families and weddings. I found that my work is more touching, more personal and more valued than it could ever be in the commercial world.

I have the great privilege of being a part of people's lives. I love to see families come together for weddings. It's a joy to watch mothers who came for maternity portraits come in with their newborns, and then babies, and then siblings.

I look forward someday to photographing the wedding of someone I photographed from the beginning of their life!
